Guide / 01

When to use it

Use it to measure total calendar days between a project start and end and express that span approximately in weeks or average-length months.

Guide / 02

Quick guide

  1. Select the start and end dates.
  2. Read the absolute day count, weeks obtained by dividing by seven, and approximate months based on 30.4375 days.
  3. For a stay or contract that counts both boundary dates, verify whether your rule requires adding one day.

Check

Validate the result

Choose 2026-01-01 and 2026-01-08; the expected output is 7 days and 1.00 week.

Limits

Know the limits

The result is absolute regardless of date order and contains no time-of-day component. Months are an average-day approximation, not a calendar years-months-days decomposition.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Why is January 1 to January 2 shown as one day?

There are 24 hours between the two midnights. A business rule that counts both named dates as occupied calendar days would add one to this difference.
