Converted date

Guide / 01

When to use it

Use it to place a Korean lunar birthday or memorial date on a Gregorian schedule, or to identify the lunar date corresponding to a historical Gregorian record.

Guide / 02

Quick guide

  1. Choose Solar to lunar or Lunar to solar before entering the date.
  2. Enter a date from 1000-02-13 through 2050-12-31 and, for lunar input, specify whether it is a leap month.
  3. Run the conversion and compare the year, month, day, and leap-month label with the source record.

CHECK

Validate the result

Convert a solar date to lunar and then convert that result back with the correct leap setting; it should return the original solar date.

LIMITS

Know the limits

Dates outside the supported range cannot be converted, and choosing the wrong regular or leap month produces a different date. The dataset follows the Korean lunisolar calendar, not every regional lunar calendar.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Can the same lunar month and day map to two solar dates?

In a year with an intercalary month, a regular month and a leap month can share the same month number. The original record must identify which one applies.
