When to use it

Guide / 02

Quick guide

  1. Select a PNG, JPG, or WebP source image.
  2. Choose the output format and a quality level for lossy output, then run the conversion.
  3. Review the reported dimensions and size, download the file, and compare transparency and color with the source.

CHECK

Validate the result

Open the downloaded file and confirm that its pixel dimensions match the source and that the actual media type matches the chosen extension.

LIMITS

Canvas re-encoding can remove EXIF location and camera data and some color-profile information. JPEG cannot preserve transparency, and multiple frames from animated images are not retained.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Why does lowering the quality slider have little effect on PNG output?

PNG is normally lossless and does not use the same quality parameter as JPEG or WebP. Choose a lossy WebP or JPG output when a smaller file matters more than exact pixels.
