GPA / 4.54.06

Guide / 01

When to use it

Use it to combine major and elective courses with different credit weights on a 4.3 or 4.5 scale and review a target GPA for the next term.

Guide / 02

Quick guide

  1. Select the 4.3 or 4.5 maximum that matches the transcript.
  2. Enter each course name, credits, and numeric grade, adding or removing rows as needed.
  3. Compare the result with the sum of grade points times credits divided by total graded credits.

CHECK

Validate the result

A three-credit course at 4.0 and a one-credit course at 2.0 should produce (12 + 2) / 4, or 3.50.

LIMITS

Know the limits

Pass/fail exclusions, repeated-course replacement, withdrawals, and institution-specific letter conversions are not automatic. A grade above the selected scale is capped at that scale.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Why is the result different from the simple average of my course grades?

Credits are weights. A three-credit course contributes three times as much to the GPA as a one-credit course.
